Hello, and thank you for your interest in Childbloom.

My name is Ron Casey, and I am the Director of the Childbloom® Guitar Program of Portland, presented at Central Bible Church. I have been teaching the guitar to children and adults in the Portland area for over 12 years. I am very excited about bringing the Childbloom Guitar Program to Portland.

Group Guitar Classes

One of the unique features of Childbloom is that the lessons are in groups. I like to have a minimum of two kids and limit the class to a maximum of four. This works best for young kids who say it's so much FUN! They also benefit from the experience of learning how to play in the context of a group, which is important and often lacking with guitar lessons.

I group the kids according to their age, give or take a couple of years. For example, my daughter is 7, and she is in a class with a 6-year-old and an 8-year-old.

Childbloom places an emphasis on note reading and the development of a solid technique. Basic motor-skills are developed early on as we work on simple songs. The songs are simple, yet challenging and progress in difficulty as the kids develop their ability on the instrument.

The classes are 30 minutes long. We meet once a week at Central Bible Church at 8815 NE Glisan St. in Portland.
We are currently meeting on weeknights with classes beginning at 5:30 PM.  Classes are also offered on Saturday mornings until noon.  Adult classes are also available on Thursday evenings.

Enrollment is always open, and you are welcome to start at any time.

Cost for the program is $68 per month, with a one-time $25 registration fee which includes the initial curriculum and CD. The cost is based on a 42-week schedule, but you would only be obligated to pay one month at a time.
